Test & Tag

We believe that electrical equipment needs to be inspected, tested and tagged on a regular basis. Our inspections are carried out by fully qualified personal, as in accordance with OH&S legislation and carried out to the performance specifications of AS/NZ3760: 2003 In-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

"The Occupational Health and Safety Act places a duty of care to provide a safe workplace. Failure to maintain electrical equipment in a safe condition, or to use equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions may result in injury or death to yourself, employees, or other parties. To meet the duty of care it is necessary to ensure that risk of injury from electric shock for all people at the workplace is reduced as far as is reasonably practicable. A method of achieving this duty is by testing and tagging electrical equipment, and implementing procedures for use of electrical equipment."

Test and Tag is a means of risk management in the workplace. OH&S legislation has made all levels of management personally liable for the safety of employees. When you use our test and tag service, we provide you with an Appliance Test Log document, which forms a part of your OH&S risk management documentation.

Prevention of workplace accidents also helps to keep insurance premiums down. Failure to comply with your obligations under OH&S legislation may also mean that your insurance company is not bound to cover a claim.

Excel Power makes it easy for you to fulfill your test and tag obligations under the OH&S Act.
